The Indian Hockey Junior Women’s team made the country proud after emerging victorious in the World Cup quarter-final. India outperformed South Korea to fetch a 3-0 win.
Entering the match as the toppers of pool D category, India manifested their excellent form throughout the match.
India scored the first goal in the 11th minute when Mumtaz Khan deflected a slapped penalty corner from Salima Tete.
India continued domination after taking an early lead. However, it was in the 15th minute, India got another breakthrough. This time, it was Lalrindiki who found the goal for the team.
The second half was a bit more aggressive with frustrated South Koreans trying hard to nullify India’s lead.
India managed to score another goal in the 41st minute when Sangita Kumari knocked the ball into the goalpost after receiving a wonderful assist from Beauty Dung Dung to extend the lead to 3-0.
