Maternity Milestone for Women in Construction Sector

Maternity benefits are being extended to women in the construction sector, ensuring their eligibility for maternity leave and appropriate payments under the PM Matru Vandana Yojana scheme. The Labour Ministry has issued a directive to companies within the infrastructure sector, stipulating them to provide 26 weeks of maternity leave to registered construction workers.

Employers are required to offer a 12-week paid maternity leave for female workers with more than two children or those who are adopting a child or serving as commissioning mothers.
