Great News! Government Employees Granted Up to 730 Days of Childcare Leave

Government female and single male employees working in civil services or Union-affiliated positions can now avail themselves of up to 730 days of parental leave.

Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Personnel, elaborated on the procedures in a written reply directed towards the Lok Sabha. Childcare leave (CCL) will be granted in accordance with Rule 43-C of the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.

Employees have the option to utilise this leave for up to a total of 730 days to cater to the needs of their two surviving children, both of whom are under the age of 18. There are no age limitations applicable in the case of children with disabilities.
