Agri-Drones to Boost Women-Led Self-Help Groups in the Farming Sector

In his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Modi unveiled a momentous plan to equip women-led self-help groups (SHGs) with agricultural drones. This visionary initiative aims to revolutionise the agricultural landscape by embracing technology and fostering the growth of agritech throughout the nation.

Under this program, the members will undergo comprehensive training in operating and maintaining drones for agricultural purposes. Initially, the initiative will kick off with the active participation of 15,000 SHGs, a noteworthy step considering that these groups collectively engage around 10 crore women across India.

By engaging a multitude of SHGs, this initiative holds the potential to create a transformative impact on the lives of rural women. The rapid development of this program and its positive ripple effects on India’s agriculture sector are aspects that promise an exciting journey ahead.
