Delhi to Establish Women-Only Parks With Extra Safety Measures

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has proposed the establishment of parks exclusively for women, intending to provide secure public areas for them. The municipality plans to construct “pink model parks” within every one of the 250 municipal wards.

There will be a variety of amenities in the parks, such as designated selfie spots, vibrant graffiti art, and state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance. Public restrooms are available for your convenience, as is an open-air gym for those who enjoy staying active.

Furthermore, children of all genders under the age of 10 can have an enjoyable time in play areas. Additional security measures will be implemented to ensure absolute safety in the vicinity of the park.

There are over 15,000 parks under the ownership of MCD. The parks vary in size, ranging from just a few dozen to more than 100. Some women find it difficult to utilise the facilities when men are present, even though they are accessible to both genders. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is committed to providing safe park facilities that women can use without worrying about their security.
